Coal as an Effective Catalyst for Selective Oxidative Dehydrogenation of Propane to Propene

Coal is a readily available and inexpensive material. However, its direct use as catalyst still rare, but attractive for practical application. In this paper, coal was directly used the selective oxidative dehydrogenation of propane to propene. It exhibited high selectivity over 90% with yield 8.4% at space velocity (12,000 mL·(h·g-cat)−1). The productivity up 2.84 gC3H6 gcat−1 h−1 obtained propene above 80% (20,000 kinetic showed first-order dependence respect or oxygen partial pressures. Meanwhile, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) X-ray photoelectron spectrum (XPS) demonstrated that carbonyl groups act active sites This work expands earth-abundant low-price in catalysis expectable scale
